John Duran – The Mayor Of West Hollywood Alleged Of Harassment, Asked To Step Down

The storm of the LGBT group and #MeToo Movement has not calmed down yet and there are new instances coming up putting up the fire to them. Recently, John Duran, the Mayor of West Hollywood has been asked to step down immediately under a serious allegation of sexual harassment. The decision has been taken by the members of the city council of West Hollywood this Tuesday.

 


 

Such a decision has been taken by the members on basis of the accusations of several men who come from the Gay Men’s Chorus in Los Angeles. As per the accusations of these men, John Duran is the culprit of sexual harassment. The men have mentioned that the harassment exactly included appropriate touching and also passing of appropriate comments by John. Though the allegations are quite serious, John has denied it.

Understanding the seriousness of the matter, the three members of the council, Lauren Meister, John D’Amico and Lindsey Horvath has urged John Duran to resign from the position of Mayor.

 

 

 

 

John Duran has been serving the position of Mayor in West Hollywood since the last four terms. Talking over the matter and the accusations, he has been denying the allegations. As per a conversation with the LA Times, he has also mentioned that he will not resign from his position.

“I haven’t done anything wrong. I’m not going to resign,” he said. “They’re going to have to wait for the investigation to occur and reasonable minds to go through the accusations and draw conclusions.”
